About

This is my space to share thoughts, ideas, and learnings about various personal projects and activities I'm working on. Professionally, I'm an engineer by training and my career largely focuses on improving production and service delivery systems in manufacturing and health care settings (with some software development thrown in for good measure).

One of my favorite quotes comes from the late William Edwards Deming -- the famous engineer, statistician and management consultant. In an era when operational decisions where often not made with data, he was known to say:

"In God we Trust, all others bring data."

In the current era of Big Data -- where 90% of all the world's data has been generated over the last two years1 -- merely bringing the data might not be enough. The challenge now to interpret the vast data we have available to make better real time decisions about society's needs.

My personal interests and hobbies include photography, hiking, building out my homelab, armchair data science and cross country (XC) bike riding.
